Great BnB in Cardiff centre. Large room with original features and well appointed. Continental breakfast was a great addition at a very modest cost and the croissant to go was much appreciated. Excellent value for money
The accommodation was very pleasant. It is nicely decorated in keeping with the style of the building. The room was comfortable with some original features which added to its ambience. We didn't use the breakfast room/lounge but it looked a pleasant environment with access to a fridge where you could label and keep your own food/drinks as required. There was also access to fresh milk too. We were impressed with the secure fob access to accommodation and the room. Whilst we enjoyed our stay there are a few points we feel need mentioning. Whilst access to the owners was available via phone, text or email we are probably a bit old fashioned and would have appreciated some face to face contact. Despite being informed that tv access to bbc iplayer was available we found this not to be the case and consequently found this to be very frustrating. We also found the heating system confusing. Despite there being a thermostat on the wall in the room it would appear that we could not alter it to suit our needs. This fortunately did not affect us too much but if the weather had been either hotter or colder it could have been an issue. The heated towel rail seemed to have a mind of its own being off one day and red hot the next. We're assuming it was centrally controlled? The accommodation is not far from the city centre and was an easy walk into the city which makes it ideal if you do not necessarily want to stay in the centre. Car parking is on street parking in nearby side streets which some may find concerning but we had no problem with this. We did find the surrounding area disappointing as it doesn't reflect the quality of this accommodation.
Lovely B&B, stylish rooms with ensuite bathrooms and good communal facilities. Well located walk to the city centre and close to free parking streets. Great value for money as well with breakfast and amenities included. Would definitely stay again!
We stayed for a week. Fantastic location close to the centre and easy access to the motorway. Lovely warm, welcoming house. Easy check in as long as you watch the short video explaining the process. Our rooms were spacious, spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. Tea, coffee and biscuits in the room, great TV, best hairdryer I’ve ever had in a hotel! Breakfast was a good selection, parcelled ready for us to collect from the dining room every morning. Altogether it felt like a home away from home!!
Impersonal and clinical. It is the first time in all my travels where I have not met my host. We referred to them as ghosts. Everything was via email (through their website) or WhatsApp. The room was spacious and nice, but the bed has seen better days (I think some of the slats are broken) . Although the room was clean there were cobwebs visible in bathroom and paint was peeling under the bay window. Although the area is convenient and on a busy bus route, the property appears to be in a bit of a seedy area of Cardiff situated on the border of Adamsville, the third highest crime area. The breakfast was reasonable, but croissants were not fresh. Again no one present to talk to. Heating in the Lounge /dining area only put on after a Whatsapp. It was 9° outside and not much more inside. We came in from the airport (what a mission). No clear directions given how to get there. So easy, take No 44 bus to Four Elms Road and it drops you off 100 meters from the the guest house. Only after the intervention of a friendly bus driver speaking to the owners on my phone did we get clear directions. Overall, not a disaster, just a lack of personal interaction and attention to detail
